ENSURE partners meet in Limoges to shape the next phase of emergency responder trainingDicembre 18, 2025

The ENSURE consortium met in Limoges, France, for a two-day workshop dedicated to the development of the project’s training programme for emergency responders.

Hosted by PUI France, the meeting brought partners together to review the progress of Work Package 3 and move from the project’s validated skills framework into concrete learning design. The workshop focused on the project’s Contextualised Learning Objectives, which are organised around the four emerging ENSURE professional profiles: Disaster Response Technologist, Community Resilience and Engagement Officer, International Disaster Response Coordinator, and Mental Health and Resilience Trainer for Emergency Services.

During the working sessions, partners reviewed the clarity, level and practical relevance of the proposed learning objectives. Breakout groups then worked on the design of self-paced learning content, including module structure, sequencing, possible Open Educational Resources, and links to real disaster response scenarios.

The workshop marked an important step in transforming ENSURE’s research and validation work into a practical course programme. The outputs of the Limoges sessions will support the further development of learning units, digital materials and future pilot activities.

By bringing together educational partners, emergency response experts and project coordinators, the meeting strengthened the project’s shared approach to training that is operationally realistic, competence-based and aligned with the needs of responders facing complex disasters.
